WHY COVER YOUR VEHICLE?

Your car takes care of you in all weather conditions to get you safely to where you need to go. Keeping it safe and covered while not in use has been shown to increase the lifespan of your vehicle due to decreased wear and tear from inclement weather and UV damage. In warmer weather, covers can keep the interior of your vehicle up to 30 degrees Fahrenheit cooler than if left uncovered. In below freezing temperatures, covering your vehicle overnight leads to a dramatic decrease in the amount of frost accumulation- which means your vehicle is ready to get going much faster than if left uncovered. Covers also provide protection from dirt, dust, and other grime commonly found on cars stored outside.

They also function as a theft deterrent- the increased time it takes a potential thief to uncover your car before being able to access the inside of the vehicle makes it a less appealing target than one left uncovered. Another benefit of covering your car is keeping prying eyes from seeing what is inside the vehicle itself, further lowering the chances of your car being a target for crime.

FINDING THE RIGHT COVER FOR YOU

Finding the right cover for your vehicle is easy when you buy from EliteShield.

Two main factors go into choosing the right cover: size and material.

How to Cover Your Car

1

MAKE SURE YOUR VEHICLE EXTERIOR IS CLEAN

Give your car a good look to make sure there’s no debris between the cover and the vehicle exterior- if trapped, leaves, sticks, or other foreign materials can cause scratches to the finish. Also check the interior of the cover for things that shouldn’t be there. Once you’re sure everything is clear, proceed to the next step.

2

LINE UP THE FRONT BUMPER AND THE FRONT OF THE COVER

Give your car a good look to make sure there’s no debris between the cover and the vehicle exterior- if trapped, leaves, sticks, or other foreign materials can cause scratches to the finish. Also check the interior of the cover for things that shouldn’t be there. Once you’re sure everything is clear, proceed to the next step.

3

MARKING THE ANTENNA

All EliteShield™ vehicle covers include an unretractable antenna patch kit. With the cover placed, carefully mark where the antenna needs to extend past the cover. Cut a small hole and attach the included self adhesive fabric rounds to both sides of the antenna hole. This will reinforce the area and prevent tearing. A benefit of the EliteShield™ fabric patch over other brand’s plastic or metal grommets is the fabric will not scratch the finish of the vehicle.

4

SECURING THE COVER

Start by sliding the front end of the cover completely over the vehicle’s front bumper. Gently pull the rest of the cover towards the back of the vehicle, securing it over the rear bumper. Use the included cable lock to anchor the cover to the car, keeping it where you want it to be.

5

CLEANING YOUR COVER

Cleaning instructions will be slightly different depending on the material your cover is constructed from.
